Introduction
 

he functions of this department are:

• To promote a regular diocesan publication that can educate, inform and entertain the family of God within the two dioceses and outside.
   
• To coordinate media/communication activities in the diocese.
   
• To facilitate efficient and effective communication within the diocese and outside.
   
• To formulate and implement a working communications policy in the diocese as a guide to effective and efficient communication.
   
• To identify and train the clergy, laity and religious in communication skills to be able to collect and disseminate and /or write quality News items.
   
• To facilitate information dissemination and networking.
   
• To promote evangelization through mass media.
   
• The department produces the Diocesan Newsletter The Way on a quarterly basis. The Newsletter is not only circulated to parishes but is also sent out to other dioceses with the view of sharing information.
   
• The Newsletter contains Diocesan News from Parishes, administrative news, national and international news, articles of ecclesial interest and entertainment.
   
• The department also engages in the production of other informational print materials like booklets, brochures, cards, certificates and posters for Diocesan departments and parishes, institutions , religious houses and other groups in the diocese.
   
• This department is also in charge of the design and management of this website.
