This
department was established at the Diocese in 1992.


Its main
responsibilities include:
• Eradication of injustice in society wherever it is seen to exist.
• To coordinate Justice and Peace programs at Parish, Deanery, and
Diocesan levels.
• To promote harmony among people through social gatherings.
• To create awareness through advocacy on the role of the church on
promotion of Justice and Peace and responsibility of Christians.
• To establish structures for peace and reconciliation
• To cooperate with other institutions, churches and people in the
eradication of injustice in society.
• To liaise with the National Justice and Peace commission and
cooperate in their formation
programs and Lenten campaigns.
• To promote reconciliation and peaceful coexistence among people.
